Join us for our first “Gilligan” Tour (you know the song) as we paddle 2 stunningly beautiful waterways: Gardner Creek and The Roanoke River. The leaves are turning and falling and the colors are beautiful! (see our Roanoke photos)
We’ll put in at Roberson’s Marina on Highway 64 in Jamesville, 8 miles east of Williamston. Then we’ll paddle approximately 4 miles on Gardner Creek to our lunch spot at the Beaver Lodge camping platform, located in a peaceful cypress swamp. After lunch we’ll continue on Gardner Creek for another 3 miles, until it joins the mighty Roanoke River. Another 2 miles on the Roanoke and we’re at the take out in Jamesville.
Bring your binoculars (we saw a bald eagle!) and your fishing pole, as this area is both an angler’s dream and a birdwatcher’s paradise.
When: Saturday, November 11, Paddle from 10:00 - 2:00ish
Time: Meet at the marina at 9:00am, then we do some shuttling
Bring: Your camera in a dry bag, your beverages, a rope to tie up your kayak, TP in a ziplock bag for easy disposal
Cost: $55.00 includes: Two fabulous tour guides, bag lunch, kayak rental and launch fee. ($25.00 if you supply your own kayak)
